Live with Compassion & Follow Your Passion

I ran across an Albert Einstein quote and thought I would share it with you:

“A happy man is too satisfied with the present to think too much about the future”.

I think that we all agree that we should live in the “present” but I haven’t thought about it from Einstein’s view. It makes me think, which is dangerous for me: Am I not in the present if I am unhappy? I know that worrying is about the past and anxiety comes for living in the future, but does the present only contain happiness? Or maybe, if something happens that does not make us happy, do we immediately revert back to the past or look ahead to the future?

Definitely living in the present with life going well is the preferred state of being. In my opinion this would mean for us to live with compassion for ourselves and others but also to follow our passion or path for this lifetime. If we live with compassion, we will love and forgive and a feeling of peace will be with us. When we follow our passion, we are following our hearts or that tiny voice within that guides us and that will bring us a satisfaction in our present life.

I don’t think living with compassion or following our passion will give us eternal bliss every moment, but I do believe it will give us the confidence to deal with life’s ups and downs that we encounter while living this lifetime.

I do welcome your thoughts on this subject.

Live in Peace and Harmony,

Dan
